We love to find articles that validate many of the things we do as coaches and hypnotists and this is one of them.

This list of ‘scientifically proven’ ways to feel confident support many of the practices we teach our clients on a regular basis. Practices such as:

Adopting the physiology of excellence. Standing tall for example boosts confidence. Adopting the physiology of excellence is the first step of many NLP patterns such as the BEAT pattern, and the circle of excellence.

Finding confidence from the past. This is used in hypnosis and NLP to find all sorts of resources. “Think of a time when you felt confident…Where are you, what are you seeing…”

Using rituals can also lead to entering specific states associated with theta ritual. this is simply anchoring on a grand scale.

Stepping into a role model. This of course is the basis of the NLP New Behavior Generator. Or the hypnotic Deep trance Identification. Imagine someone you admire who is confident and step into them. Simple as that.

There are some other fun techniques listed here from Lindsey Holmes of the Huffington Post for you to enjoy!

We dedicate time and energy to cultivating the feeling so we can tap into it when we need it most: at work, in business meetings, on dates, during tough conversations. Fortunately, there are a few science-backed tricks to get us there (even when we totally don’t feel it). If you’re feeling less-than-stellar, these simple, actionable tips will help you fake it ’til you make it: For starters, stand tall. Via
