Here’s to Aung San Suu Kyi. Suu Kyi is a Burmese democracy leader. She spent 20 years on and off under house arrest by the military government in Myanmar (Burma) for refusing to leave the country. In spite of threats she steadfastly fought for democracy and was elected to the Myanmar parliament in 2012. Or in the words of Steve Jobs…

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes.

The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.

But the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They invent. They imagine. They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire.

Here’s to Aung San Suu Kyi, who shows us the meaning of courage.

Aung San Suu Kyi, the Burmese Nobel Peace Prize laureate is always carried in the hearts and her image in the pockets, lockets and secret hiding places of millions of Burmese.
